Do you have a morning routine that helps you stay aligned with your health goals?
As someone who has not always had healthy morning habits, I can now see looking back how having an intentional morning routine has truly benefited my life in so many ways. Having a solid morning routine has been the foundation for staying on track with health goals. It can help you with your mindset, eating habits, preparing for a winning day, and overall well-being. When I began to be intentional about creating a healthy morning routine, that’s when my health habits became a way of life for me because I stacked really great habits that have become second nature to me now.
In this blog post, we’ll discuss how to build a simple morning routine that will help elevate your health to the next level no matter what your starting point is.
Winning Morning Routine:
1. Drink Water
By now, we all know that a daily morning routine includes drinking water to rehydrate your body after a night of rest. Although coffee might be on the top of your mind, drinking water first is a great habit to have. You can even squeeze in half a lemon for some vitamin C.
Buying a reusable water bottle has been a game changer for me because I take it with me everywhere I go. This has helped me to drink water all day and avoid drinking any sugary drinks.
2. Movement
The best morning routines include exercise. I love to take my two dogs on a walk and do a simple at-home workout using weights or a quick gym workout. Not only do I enjoy watching my dogs sniff around and wiggle their tails, but I get to enjoy some morning movement. The Vitamin D from the sun is a plus too.
If you do not already work out for your morning routine, you can start with something as simple or complex as doing jumping jacks, going on a walk or run, at-home workouts, gym workouts, pilates, etc. The point is to move your body daily in a way that you find enjoyable.
I usually have a pair of dumbbells beside my bed because then I have no excuse not to do a simple workout, even if I don’t go to the gym.
3. Green Juice
The next part of my winning morning routine includes making my daily green juice to detoxify and revitalize my body. I usually blend one ripe banana, spinach or green mix, green powder supplement, and chia seeds or flax seeds altogether.
I find that having a greens powder and healthy fats in the morning helps me with my daily healthy nutrient intake. This particular greens powder that I use has wheat grass, kale, moringa, and spirulina.
4. Fuel Up With Food
This is the part of my routine where I add lean proteins to my breakfast. My go-to breakfast includes two eggs, sausage or bacon, and avocado. I keep it simple and healthy.
I have been using a stainless steel pan ever since I found out that Teflon and other nonstick materials leak toxins into your food when cooking, which can disrupt your hormones.
I find that having green juice with this breakfast fills me up without the crash of heavy carbs in the morning.
5. Healthy Supplements
I take a probiotic+ prebiotic supplement every morning with food to keep good gut health, immune health, and vaginal health. I have also taken multivitamins, protein powder, and other supplements when needed. I find that taking a probiotic supplement keeps my digestion good and my skin more clear.
6. Pack a Lunch
The last part of my healthy morning routine includes a healthy meal to go. This helps me to eat a healthy meal for lunch.
I usually pack my leftover dinner in a glass storage container. This makes it easy to reheat in the same dish and always makes doing the dishes easier with its nonstick quality. Also, glass does not leach unwanted toxins into the food.
This post was all about having a morning routine that is easy and doable for a healthy lifestyle.
